Each morning this past week we have found several large deposits of skat on the wrap around porch, in the barn and in the tractor shed. It was as if some small critter was marking his territory. Not being a poop specialist we asked our friends on Facebook if they knew what it was and they revealed a surprising answer.
Toad! That explains the number of feces, there must be 100 or more toads in the gardens, we find them frequently floating expired in the pool. So where did we find confirmation? It is always amazing what information can be revealed in this day of endless Internet links and the World Wide Web. The folks over at Morning Bray farms had an interesting write-up and after that deep read it was nice to see we were not the only ones who needed a clue and the read over at Orange County Trackers was a pretty good read that lead to following more links. So, these toads leave quite an impression, but nothing to fear. Hopefully the droppings are result of gnats, mosquito, fly, beetles and other garden pests.
